The Guilford People are surrounded in mystery, but it is known that they lived in the Carolina region about 6,000 years ago. Guilford blades made by these people are typically long, narrow but thick, and a rounded almond shape. They were created with random flaking due to difficult-to-use materials like rhyolite and quartz. These blades were used for carving, for skinning, and as arrowheads on spears.
