Coprolite is animal droppings preserved by mother nature, or fossil manure. The droppings could have been covered by mud, sand, leaves or some method preventing other animals, insects or decay from distributing it. As time passed, it was replaced by minerals molecule by molecule.

This specimen was found in the Morrison formation of the Jurassic period of the Mesozoic era, considered the age of the dinosaur. This specimen is guesstimated at 100 million years.
