Azurite is a rich royal blue copper mineral that is produced from the oxidation of copper ore deposits. It forms between layers of a clay mineral called kaolinite, compressing and forcing the azurite to grow radially, creating a “sun.” Azurite suns are incredibly unique not just because of how they form but because they are only found in the Malbunka Copper Mine in Australia.
