A synthetic looking stone that is actually 100% natural!
Charoite is found in massive form and was only first discovered in the 1940s, however, most of the world did not hear of it until the 1970s--most likely because of its rather bland look when raw and in the field. Its pearly swirling luster and translucent lavender purple color deceivingly appear man-made. Charoite is a complex silicate with potassium, calcium, barium, silicon, hydrogen, and other elements.
Charoite is rare and is only found in Siberia, Russia. It is named for the Chary, or Charo, River in Siberia. "Chary" in Russian means "magic" or "charms." This mineral is a 5 - 6 on the hardness scale so is not generally used in bracelets or rings, but are used in other jewelry like earrings.
Metaphysical Meaning and Healing Properties: Charoite is a stone of transformation that is associated with the first chakra (crown chakra), second chakra (third eye chakra) and fourth chakra (heart chakra). It cleanses the chakras by turning negative energy into healing. It minimizes stress and anxiety, and pushes forth unconditional love. Charoite is believed to regulate blood pressure, help with insomnia and block nightmares. Some say it assists with the heart, eyes, pancreas, liver and nervous system.
