Triceratops
Triceratops: Greek for "three horned face"
Lived in the late cretaceous 68-66MYA,and was probably made extinct by the aftereffects of the K/T meteor strike. Herbivorous, and probably prey to T Rex
Reached 29 ft. in length, was 9 feet tall, and weighed up to 12 tons. The massive skull plus frill took up a third of the total length.
Tyranosaurus Rex
Tyrannosaurus rex: From Greek "Tyrant Lizard King,"
Lived 66-67 MYA, (Late Cretaceous), probably became extinct during the K/T mass extinction. 40 ft long, 13 ft. tall at the hip,and weighed 71/2 tons. (12.3 meters,4 meters, and weighed 6.8 metric tons.)
5 foot (1.5m) Head generated bite force 3 times that of Great White Shark possibly most of any animal of all time.
Velociraptor
Velociraptor: From Greek:"swift thief" Though they were about 6 feet long from head to tail tip, they were lightly built weighing only about 30 lbs (about twice as much as a modern turkey).
The famous movie raptors were really based on Velociraptors bigger cousin from America Deinonychus. Velociraptor lived in Asia.
Most of it's fossils are found in the Gobi desert of Mongolia.
