Rubellite in Quartz & Lepidolite

Rubellite is a rare red or pink variety of tourmaline that is often mistaken for Ruby. The value of rubellite comes from its color, which can range from a deep red to a purple. It is named after the Latin term rubellus meaning “reddish.” 

It can be found in many places in the world including Brazil, Madagascar, Nigeria, Russia and Myanmar.
